third I checked the 5v reference at each sensor. But the resolution to my problem was multiple, first I cleaned out the VST chamber and the screen on the bottom of the high pressure fuel pump in there, and changed all other filters and added one in between the low pressure fuel pump and the VST, (they added these from the factory starting on 07 I think). What I did first was to get a copy of the yamaha diagnostic program and made my own cable (for $30) Cause I could not order the Yammy cable cause they are back ordered for over 6 months and cost over $300 ridiculously stupid price. if you are interested I will link you to the post about making your own cable. All though I heard it resetting (2 second rattle) it was over heating and stuck.my engine is running tremendously well now. I am not sure of any way to test it other than listening for the ISC rattle just after shut down. when they over heat from being stuck it also can cause problems in your ECU ($1000) so you want to fix this problem ASAP. this indicated that it was probably stuck (seems to be a common problem from what I hear) I soaked it in sea foam for 2 days then reinstalled it.works like a champ now.they are very pricey or I would have just got a new one. lastly I touched the ISC valve body after 5 mins of run time, it was very hot. May our dear friend Rest In Peace.Ī condolences thread can also be found in Dockside Chat sub_forum. However, it took several days for us to make contact with Don’s family and be sure of what had happened. We apologize for how long the news has taken to release to the community.
Don is a US Veteran having served with the US Air Force until 1968 as a flight simulator specialist. Amazingly smart, and quickly able to think about things from an angle you weren’t expecting, he always held your interest and provided real help when needed. A little gruff, and “old-guy-ish” at times (Don was still using a flip-phone which he took a considerable amount of ribbing over), anyone would enjoy getting to know the real Don: an honest-to-goodness rocket scientist. He did an immeasurable amount of work for us all, sorting out quite a bit of technical detail. What is less known is how much work he put in behind the scenes on technical issues. On the forums, Don’s regular posts, sharp no-nonsense style, and fun gags were readily seen. The man behind the GA_Boater handle is Don Wilson and like so many of our friends who have sailed on ahead, Don is an irreplaceable member of our community. We are saddened to announce that we have recently learned one of our iboats forum Moderators, and more so our friend, GA_Boater passed away the first week of March, 2022 of natural causes.
